Traditional Furniture Items
Demand for a traditional furniture items was always felt necessary by the Royal Government in view of import substitution and the need to blend our own traditional designs with the furniture item. The NRDCL produce only traditional furniture at Woodcraft Centre, Langjophakha, Thimphu.

Joinery Production
The joinery products such as paneling and flooring offer complete services from supply only through to fully installed and all sub trade services. NRDCL manufacture and sells the joinery products to the customers at the reasonable and affordable prices from Ramtokto in Thimphu and Lingmithang in Mongar. 

Timber
Timer extraction is the process of transporting cut timber from the place where it was growing to a point where it can can be removed from site. There are a wide range of different methods of timber extraction in NRDCL and they vary in their strengths and weaknesses, and in the sites where they are most appropriate. The NRDCL sold timber in the form of logs, swan and poles etc.

Stones
Stones are strong, durable and descent in appearance. The main uses of stone as a building material are:
As a principal material for foundation of civil engineering works, and for the construction of walls, arches, abutments and dams. In stone masonry in places where it is naturally available.

Sand 
Sand is very commonly used in road and building construction, often providing bulk, strength, and stability to other materials such as asphalt, concrete, mortar, render, cement, and screed. It also prevents cracking of mortar during setting. Well-graded sand increases the density of mortar.

Firewood

Firewood is any wooden material that is gathered and used for fuel. Generally, firewood is not highly processed and is in some sort of recognizable log or branch form, compared to other forms of wood fuel like pellets or chips. Firewood can be seasoned (dry) or unseasoned (fresh/wet).

Woodchips

Woodchips are small- to medium-sized pieces of wood formed by cutting or chipping larger pieces of wood such as trees, branches, logging residues, stumps, roots, and wood waste.

Glulam
Glulam is a stress-rated engineered wood beam composed of wood laminations, or “lams”, that are bonded together with durable, moisture-resistant adhesives. The grain of the laminations runs parallel with the length of the member. Glulam is versatile, ranging from simple, straight beams to complex, curved members. The Glulam production is currently operated in the Pangbesa, Paro under NRDCL.

About Company

Until 1979, harvesting of timber was carried out by allotting working-coupes to contractors through open auctions. This practice was found to be unsustainable as the contractors operated the areas with the objective of making the maximum profit and without paying any regard to the scientific operation and management of forest.
